Since the foundation of our cooperative we have experienced many exciting moments with our partners. Moments that have brought us forward on our way into the future.

With the foundation of the Nord-West Schuhwareneinkaufsgenossenschaft in 1919 the foundation stone for today's ANWR GROUP was laid. Since then it has grown up and grown together to one of the largest trade cooperatives. Spirit of the times and political developments, fashion trends and technological innovations, forward-looking ideas and creative designers, committed employees and thousands of specialist retailers committed in their business environment have decisively shaped the way.

An essential part of the ceremony was dedicated to music: The Big Noise Orchestra led through 100 years of ANWR history. Under the musical direction of conductor Hans Steingen, the selected pieces left room for profound stories, connecting themes and associations in addition to musical enjoyment. Director Andreas Roos was responsible for the production.

The actor Peter Lohmeyer was also involved. As a shoeshine boy he unpacked his utensils and - accompanied by presenter Sandra Riess - told stories from the epochs of the ANWR GROUP. In his greeting to the guests, the Federal Minister of Economics, Peter Altmaier, emphasized the modernity of the cooperative's corporate form.
